At Upstate Circle of Friends, we recognize the importance of supporting seniors in maintaining their independence and overall well-being. Our Senior Meal Assistance Program provides year-round, home-delivered meals to seniors who are homebound and unable to shop, prepare meals, or attend congregate nutrition sites. By delivering nutritious meals directly to their doorsteps, we strive to help seniors live independently and thrive in the comfort of their own homes. Additionally, we offer a short-term meal service (up to 12 weeks) for seniors recovering from hospitalization or rehabilitation, provided they meet the eligibility criteria for home-delivered meals.

Who Qualifies for This Service?

This service is available to seniors in the following counties: Anderson, Cherokee, Greenville, Laurens, Pickens, Spartanburg, and Union. To qualify, individuals must meet one or more of the following criteria:
  • Physically or mentally unable to obtain food or prepare meals, with no reliable support.
  • Unable to attend a congregate nutrition site due to physical or mental impairments.
  • Spouses of homebound individuals, if one or both are unable to prepare meals due to illness or disability.

How to Apply for the Senior Meal Program

Whether you're looking for year-round or short-term meal service, we're here to help! To apply or make a referral for year-round meal service or short-term (up to 12 weeks) meal delivery during recovery, please call 864-201-8591. Referrals can be made by individuals, family members, caregivers, or medical providers. A case worker will assess eligibility to ensure the service meets the senior's specific needs.
